“Doctors driven to bankruptcy”; now that is one phrase I never thought I would hear a lot much less in a major news story line. But this is the case for many doctors and their practices around the United States. Because of the bad economy, doctors are losing their patients and they are having many financial struggles to keep their businesses afloat.
Sad and unfortunately, the practices that go under hurt both the doctors as well as all of their patients. The patients have to find other doctors and hospitals to go to and that can be harder than it sounds. When people find a good doctor they like and trust they do not want to leave them. Some of these poor doctors have been compared to a captain on a sinking ship and all they can do is try to help their patients find other doctors like a captain would do with passengers and lifeboats.
I believe this goes to show how bad the economy is hurting everyone. These doctors have a family to support and all they have known is being a doctor. They have a Doctoral Degree in their special field and many probably still have student loans to pay back. It is tough for everyone out there, esven doctors.
