When the argument over gun control in the United States is really heating up, this tragedy is sure to push lawmakers even further to be sure the Feinstein gun ban, or one like it is passed for all of the United States.

It happened on a lazy day in Lebanon, Tennessee to the family of a Wilson County Sherriff Deputy. The Deputy was at his home during a family cookout, showing one of his good friends some of his firearms. He keeps them locked up when not in use and had just laid his personal handgun on the bed of his bedroom, when his wife, Josephine Fanning, and 4 year old son walked into the room. His son picked up the loaded pistol and within seconds, one shot had killed Josephine.

The deputy had reiterated the fact that he keeps all of his weapons locked up and this could happen to anyone, even a law enforcement officer. That weapon and his service pistol were the only ones that were loaded and the other was locked away. This shows that guns are a serious matter and everyone should always be cautious around them. It sounds like the deputy did everything right as far as keeping his guns locked up but the boy needs to be taught more about guns if he is going to be around them a lot.
